Mas de Sans

Mas de Sans is a typical working almond farm (harvest in August/September), in a privileged setting in the Prades foot-hills. Although peacefully secluded, only minutes away from the major towns of Reus (modernist architecture) and Tarragona (beaches and Roman ruins). The area is also famous for its wines (5 different regions), gourmet dining, Cistertian Monasteries and Modernist Wine Cellar route. Arriving through the urbanisation of Masies Catalanes and via a well maintained private track of 300 m. 

There is plentiful parking, an orchard, garden and large sun terrace with a small BBQ. The swimming pool fed by a natural spring continuously flowing, is found on one of the many walks just 100 m from the cottage. The building is airy and cool with high ceilings and original stone features. The living area and kitchen have views over the valley and coast. Only 4km from the historic villages of Alcover and La Selva or the mountain hamlet of L'Albiol plus the fabulous Prades mountain great for walking and cycling are on the doorstep with a range of historic villages.

Costa Dorada or Daurada has numerous beaches the closest being only 20 minutes drive from the cottage. There is an interesting Museum in Alcover, which housessome fantastic fossils. Port Aventura adventure Part 20 minutes by Car.

Leisure activities in the area include; Cycling, Golf, Walking, Fishing on the River Ebro, Gaudi and Modernist Archictecture in Reus and surrounding villages, Roman aquaduct and ruins in or near Tarragona, Museums, Monestary Route including Poblet and Santas Creus being the closest.

I am happy to share my experiences of the farm which is registered (Ecological) Organic with the Catalan department of Agriculture which also covers the whole of Spain and Europe.
Anyone wanting to join in the harvest of Almonds or Olives are welcome and this will include visits to Almond processor as well as Olive press during those seasons.
